Aliseda started in 1990 creating jewels of traditional Florentine school, but very soon our style was enriched by archaeological motifs, especially from Etruscan and Roman sources.
Shapes and working techniques are taken from ancient sources, however creativity and experimentation are very important in producing our jewellery.
Our manufacturing process starts from pure metals to obtain the various alloys used; some alloys such as electrum (gold and silver in equal parts) have been ”rediscovered” after their disappearance from modern jewellery.
Our gems are cut from carefully chosen natural crystals, sometimes using ancient cutting patterns like those published in Diderot and D’Alembert’s Encyclopédie. Tuscan jasper and chalcedonyare often used in our work, as are other hardstones and natural materials.
